Using the Excel Viewer

The Excel Viewer allows you to view an area of an Excel workbook within an Explorer document.

The range of cells you can view is determined by the cell reference you enter in the Property Sheet. The Excel Viewer will crop the Excel workbook at the bottom and right edges.

The Excel Viewer control can be added to any Exaquantum/Explorer document. To display data in the Excel Viewer follow these steps:

  1. Open the Excel workbook.
  2. Start Exaquantum/Explorer.
  3. In Exaquantum/Explorer, select New Document from the File menu. A new document is displayed.
  4. In the Palette, select the Excel Viewer control image\ebd_Ebd179.gif .
  5. Drag the icon onto the Exaquantum/Explorer document. The Excel Viewer control is displayed.
  6. Right-click on the Excel Viewer control. The pop-up menu is displayed.
  7. Select Object Properties, the Property Sheet is displayed. Select the ActiveX tab. Use the ActiveX tab to specify the data you want to display.

  1. In the Filename field, type (or use drag and drop) the path and the filename of the Excel workbook.
  2. In the Label field, select Yes to display the row and column labels.
  3. In the Range field, specify the Excel workbook first cell you want to display in the top left corner of the Excel Viewer control.
  4. In the Sheet field, specify the sheet within the Excel workbook you want to display.

  1. On the Property Sheet, click on the image\ebd_Ebd180.gif to save the data and close the Property Sheet.
  2. Select Run mode to view the Excel workbook data.
