General Error Messages

This help file lists the error messages which may be produced in Exaquantum/Explorer.

System Information may not be installed on the machine.

Unexpected system error.

An unexpected system error occurred.

Initialisation error.

Exaquantum/Explorer initialisation has failed.

One or more Exaquantum/Explorer components have failed to start up properly – please check that your installation was successful.

Exaquantum/Explorer Initialisation failed

The Exaquantum/Explorer installation may not be complete. Check the installation and if necessary reinstall.

Failed To Find Specified Path.

Failed to find specified path.

The default path specified in Exaquantum/Explorer options could not be found.

Exaquantum/Explorer shared path could not be parsed.

Exaquantum/Explorer shared path could not be parsed.

An error occurred reading the list of shared paths specified in Exaquantum/Explorer options.

Please check using the Tools/Options menu.

Already In requested mode.

Exaquantum/Explorer is already in the requested mode.

Invalid mode request.

An invalid Exaquantum/Explorer mode was requested.

Exaquantum/Explorer supports two modes: Design mode and Run mode.

Unsupported file type.

The specified file type is not supported by Exaquantum/Explorer.

Exaquantum/Explorer supports Workbook files (.pxw), Explorer documents (.pxd), Document templates (.pxt), and web documents (.htm, .html). Other file types may be opened in the appropriate application from the Application Launcher

Explorer Shell Error.

An unexpected error occurred in the Explorer Shell.

Explorer Document Error.

An unexpected error occurred in the Explorer document.

The Help File cannot be displayed.

The Help File cannot be found or opened.

Failed To Save File.

Failed to save file.

This could be that you do not have write access permission to the file. Also check whether the disk is full.

Could Not Open Workbook.

Could not open Workbook.

The Workbook file was either not found, or not a valid Explorer Workbook file, or you do not have permission to access the file.

Only one user may have a workbook open in design mode at any one time.

Could Not Open File.

Could not open the file.

The file was either not found, or you do not have permission to access the file.

Failed Command.

Command failed or terminated with non-zero status.

The application selected failed to launch correctly or the specified file could not be opened.

Unsupported Run Method.

This method is not supported in Run mode

Unsupported Design Method.

This method is not supported in Design mode.

Run Mode Enabled.

Explorer was started in Run mode – design features are disabled.

Failed To Create Workbook File.

Failed to create and initialise Workbook file.

The requested new Workbook file could not be created, or Exaquantum/Explorer failed to open a Workbook Object.

Target Document Could Not Be Assessed.

Target document could not be assessed.

A document with this target name was not found in the Documents Collection.

Unscriptable Active Document.

Active document is not scriptable.

This error is raised if you try to access Explorer Document items through the Object Model in Design Mode.

No Explorer Workbook Is Open.

No Explorer Workbook is open.

Save Workbook was selected but no Workbook is open.

Unsuccessful Menu Command.

This menu command was not successful.

This error is raised if no previous error has been reported to indicate this failure.

Operation Failure.

This operation has failed due to lack of memory.

Failed To Configure Explorer Workbook File.

Failed to configure Explorer Workbook file.

An error occurred setting the new Workbook configuration.

Failed To Save Explorer Workbook File.

Failed to save Explorer Workbook file.

The changes to the Workbook file could not be saved to disk.

Invalid Workbook Version.

Invalid Workbook Version.

This Explorer Workbook file is not at a supported version.

No Document Active.

No document is active.

An operation was requested which requires a document to work on, e.g. save or print.

Filename Field Empty.

The filename field must be specified in the Workbook configuration.

One or more entries in the Workbook configuration have been entered without specifying a file name.

Target Field Empty.

The target field must be specified in the Workbook configuration.

One or more entries in the Workbook configuration have been entered without specifying a target name. The Target name is the name by which the document is identified in the Documents Collection and it must be unique.

Caption Field Empty.

The Windows Caption field must be specified in the Workbook configuration.

One or more entries in the Workbook configuration have been entered without specifying a Window Caption.

Duplicate Target Name Specified.

A duplicate Target name was specified.

One or more entries in the Workbook configuration have been entered with the same target name. The Target name is the name by which the document is identified in the Documents Collection and it must be unique.

One Active Document Only.

Only one document may be marked as active in the Workbook configuration.

Failed To Restore Document From The Temporary File.

Failed to restore document from the temporary file.

When running in ‘preview’ mode, documents, which have been changed but not saved, are saved to the temporary files with the name ~<filename> in the current folder. This error indicates that something went wrong with the restore of the documents when returning to Design Mode. If changes seem to have been lost, you may wish to try manually opening the temporary file and using ‘SaveAs’ to restore the document.

Invalid Date Specified.

Invalid date specified.

Explorer dates may only be specified in BSTR or DATE format.

Invalid window style: %

The window style specified in a NavigateEx call is invalid. Invalid styles are <place a link here to the styles in the Navigation chapter>.

Document Failed To Run.

An error in the document prevented it going to Run mode. Possible cause – unsupported ActiveX control. The document has been closed.

An Invalid Document Type Was Specified In The Workbook.

Explorer supports workbook files (.pxw), Explorer documents (.pxd), document templates (.pxt) and web documents (.htm, .html). Other file types may be opened using the appropriate application from the Application Launcher.

Note: Only .pxd, .pxt, .html and .htm files can be added to the workbook properties.

Custom OCX Property page is still active. This page must be closed before this operation can be completed.

 

Exaquantum has shutdown.

All open documents must now be closed. You will be prompted to save any unsaved documents.

When Exaquantum is stopped, Explorer will be notified and must also be shutdown. Modified documents may be saved if the message is given.

The network connection with Exaquantum has been lost.

All open documents will be closed and Explorer will be shutdown.

Explorer cannot run without a connection to the Exaquantum server. If this connection is across the network, and fails, Explorer will shutdown.

Exaquantum has shutdown.

Do you wish to attempt to reconnect or exit from Explorer?

 

Retry: Attempt to reconnect to Exaquantum.

Cancel: Exit from Explorer.

When Exaquantum is stopped, this message will be given to allow the user to attempt to reconnect to Exaquantum if it has restarted, or to shutdown Explorer. If cancel is chosen, the user will be prompted to save any unsaved documents.

Exaquantum is not running.

Do you wish to attempt to reconnect or exit from Explorer?

 

Retry: Attempt to reconnect to Exaquantum.

Cancel: Exit from Explorer.

Exaquantum is not running on the server. Explorer cannot start unless the Exaquantum server is running. Start the server and retry.

No Printers are installed

A printer must be setup on the client PC before it can be used.

Attempt to print to printer <printer name> failed, check:

  • The correct printer driver is installed

  • The connection to the printer.

An error occurred when attempting to print to the specified printer. The correct driver for the printer must be installed and a direct or network connection to the printer must be available.

Cannot print to printer <printer name>

Attempting to print using printer's default orientation

The Control Panel can be used to change printer settings

An error occurred when attempting to set the orientation of the document to be printed. The default orientation will be used. The control panel (Printers) can be used to set the default orientation of the printer. This should be done before the print action is invoked.
